This is a catchy ragtime two step which was recorded by the Arthur Pryor band in 1907.

There is little to nothing on the web about the composer other than Ashley Ballou was probably female. The title and front cover are intriguing, does anyone know who Chicken Charlie was and anything about the composer? This is a good entry level tune for anyone who hasn't tried playing ragtime yet.
