A friend of mine has recently acquired an antique banjo for restoration. There is no makers name but on the perch pole is printed 'THE WARDOUR'. It has a rolled white oak hoop with 36 brackets which make me think it could be from the US. The tuning pegs are nickel plated metal, similar to those on the better grade Windsors. From the general construction, it is definitely a top of range model. Without a picture, could anyone hazardguess as to who the maker might be?.....Steve.

Hi did your friend find anything out about their banjo?

A friend of mine has just lent me a vintage zither banjo with 'the wardour no 3' on the neck, it has 20 pegs on the 9" head. and a body of mahogany i believe....

Not so far I'm afraid...It's a pity because is is a top of the range instrument....Steve.
