Vess L Ossman's recording on "Edda Sohn Reh Cuds" (as the announcer pronounces it) is one of my favorite banjo recordings, but I think it is possible that your rendition, which I enjoyed very much, might be be the composer's intended speed. As usual, your fingering choices are very similar to mine. I notice that when given a choice between successive notes on one string or changing strings for each note, you often take the latter choice which can be done by simply holding down a left hand "chord" position, instead of lots of left hand finger movement. My students have picked up my habit of calling these positions "car horn chords" (when you play the notes together, which are sometimes a half step apart, it sounds like a traffic jam with everyone honking their horns).

Your new Clipper sounds very good.

Yeah !

That's sounding well, i noted you added some  differences than the original score and little licks , that give an unforgetable touch ! You Clipper is remarkable !

Well done !

thx , Jody : yes , as used to say recently Steve & according with S Joplin , no problem for playing the ragtime slowly ; I think , for my part , that this one is fine too , slowly . May be i could change the fingerings & use the single string when playing it faster or with a computer or piano ' backup ; the " car horn chords " formula allows to have more sustain on each single note , better i think when playing a piece solo banjo .

In French , we have 3 words  for horn ;  " cor " is for  " French horn " ( cor Anglais ) ;

"pavillon  " is for  the gramophones for instance  ( internal or external horn ) and  "Klaxon" is for the car horn . in Spanish , my wife say " pito " for the carn horn but  she use the same word for ......the dick of our lil ' boy; so  i am not sure of the word ..

The Clipper is set with natural vellum & Nylgut strings ; the reso is convexe with 3/4 ' holes drilled all around  the side ; this  could be factory made

@ éric :  J 'y  Bien  étais éclairé par la Lampe pour modifier la version....
