So, I got a gig! Which is pretty fantastic in these times. It's in a musical instruments museum. The idea is "museum alive", sort of. Different musicians every sunday presenting instruments, and playing them, so people are able to hear and not only see them. I got free hands to do pretty much whatever I want so obviously I want to do a short history of the banjo, starting with the akonting and then go through the different banjos I have (I'm a bit limited there. I don't have a modern bluegrass banjo, for instance...).So this would be my attempt at presenting the Banjeaurine....

Can I do it like that, more or less, or am I making a fool of myself? (I still have a week to practise...)

I mean, it is a great oppertunity to present the banjo, and specially classic banjo, but if I am presenting badly played music it would do "the cause" more harm than good, I gather.

So I want your very honest opinions: thumbs up or down?

That is very good and impressive. Most people expect the banjo to sound as though Earl Scruggs was playing it and are surprised that tunes other than "Beverley Hillbillies Theme" or "Cripple Creek" can be played on it.

Thumbs up from me and you certainly won't make a fool of yourself. If anyone criticises...give the banjo to them and let them show everyone how it should be played ;-))

That is a pretty cool banjo too!
