I have a large collection of banjos made by Alfred Weaver that I'm considering downsizing a bit, and I'm curious how much interest there is in the U.S. for them before I bother to list them. I'd be asking $1000 a banjo. Any interest or should I look at selling them abroad?

I might be interested in one. How many banjos is a large collection? Case included in price?

Sure, I can include a case. I am selling 2 11" banjos, one 10.75", and one zither banjo. The best one is a Clifford Essex Special (made by Weaver) that's apart awaiting a head I never got around to buying.

Is the CE special wood hoop or clad?  What is the scale on each of these banjos?  What is the depth of each pot (the regular banjos).

Here's a breakdown. All of these banjos are clad.

11" #1 - 26.5" scale, 2.75" deep pot. 22 frets. Replaced nut.
11" #2- Banjo is currently with a friend. If I recall, the pot is shallower than #1 and the scale longer. It has 19 or 20 frets. I'm getting it back next week at the ABF rally and can provide specifics then.

The 10.75" banjo is a Weaver influenced by Farland/Stewart Special Thoroughbred complete with the star inlay. 22 frets. 26" scale. 2.75" deep pot.

The zither banjo needs restoration. Would let it go for very little.

I'd rather not ship anything if I don't have to. I can bring these to the ABF rally.

I also have an unmarked banjo that belonged to Parke Hunter that I might part with. It needs a bit of work.

I understand about shipping. It gets to be pain.  I think I'll pass. Yes, bringing them to the ABF rally's a good idea. Thank you.  I'd be a bit wary of Parke Hunter's banjo. Haunted!
