"Sic itur ad astra," said Virgil, as I switched on my electronic tuner/time machine and went from Antiquity to the 1920's. There I met Joe Morley, from whom I stole an early manuscript of Ad Astra, earning myself the ire of the banjo establishment. It would seem I was condemned to go to BANJOHELL for this slight upon the Divus Ioannes (Divine Joe).

However, if would seem Virgil was right -- I did indeed "ascend to the heavens," if the lighting in this video is anything to go by.

Ad Astra......To the Stars  !!!!!!

It was like a scene from Independence Day.... bye Mike  :-)

That was a great performance on a very hard piece. I am glad that the finger is healed and fully functional.

You put us all in the shade :-)

Quite a Neronian moment -- Mike fiddles while Washington burns!

I recorded this one right after Syncopatin' Shuffle, and I was a bit tired. I might attempt a better recording sometime in the future. This one's a real crowd pleaser, but it's exhausting for the performer!

Thanks for watching

I like the lighting, but it makes it hard to see the face.

I'll have to remember that for my next video. Anything that hides my face improves the picture.

A good performance of a very challenging solo.

Thank you for your comment, Richard; I must admit I wasn't very good when I recorded this version, have you seen my more recent performance? http://classic-banjo.ning.com/video/ad-astra-joe-morley-my-all-time...
