I like the tone of this banjo!   There is an article about  Madeline Rossiter's career in the November 1954 issue of BMG magazine, which can be found in the John Field BMG Library right here on this website. Neither discusses her music, how it sounded, what kind of banjo she played or anything like that.

The score of another of her compositions, The Douglas Cake Walk is in the Music Library here, as is Romping Rossie.  I wonder if Douglas refers to a person or to the town on the Isle of Man or ... (?)

Yes, it's been interesting finding out about her career - I imagine 'Romping Rossie' might have been one of her stage pieces.  I wonder if anyone has come across her 'Flares and Flashes March'!

The only mention of "Flares and Flashes" I've seen is the title of one of her stage shows (which appear to have been of the variety type). No doubt it is in the JAT catalog. We need to find more JAT publications.

I have it on good authority that our esteemed Mr. Hooks is working on a pile of JAT books (previously published by Hal Allert). Should be much clearer scans this time around.
