Questions about a zyther/banjo

Hi everyone, first a big THANK YOU to this website host for approving my request to becomd a member.

Recently, I bought this zyther/banjo from an estate sale. It is alleged to be from 1900. I do not know the maker and is in a desperate need of repair that I am willing to do. It previous owner did a bad job on it. I would love to share pictures of it before I took it apart and afterwards.

If anyone could help me to upload these picture I would deeply appreciated.

New bridge Reily Baker banjo 1890

Really loved that old tiny bridge but it was producing a mute tone on the first string due to how wide the string slots were. Gap under the bridge, top wasn't level. Quite a few issues but it felt great. Action was perfect, string spacing perfect for me, height of bridge felt great too, even though its a fraction of the height of modern bridges. So I just bought a cheap two leg bridge, was farr too tall, so I cut the legs off to get it nearer the size I wanted. Sanded down the top with a…

The King Of The Cake Walk (Le Roi Du Cake Walk)..1903..Marius Cairanne

This is a good, early example of ragtime written by a French composer. I couldn't find a bio on Cairanne but there is a lot of his music mentioned on the web suggesting that he was a prolific composer. It's a great tune that's well suited for the…See More

That Whistling Rag..1912..Joseph M. Foley

This is a one off, self published rag by Foley who was from  Ontario, Canada. It's a catchy tune and not too challenging to play. Included is the score and MP3 which Ian will add to the library one the storage issues are resolved.…See More

Dixie Doodle (Rag Two-step)...1899...C.N.Buchanan
