It was only after I'd completed this arrangement that I found  recordings of the tune by Vess Ossman and Ruby Brooks in original recordings. It's one of Holzmann's 'standards' and very much has the sound of Smokey Mokes about it in parts. The score and midi are in the library....Steve.

Hi Steve!

It is interesting how close your arrangement is to this one...

I guess great minds think alike.  The use of harmonies are a little different and the trios vary-- but for the most part they both tick the same boxes.

Nice Job!

I wonder who the sheet music artist was.  It's kind of refreshing compared to the usual cartoon racial stereotyping.  Maybe I should stay off this topic... anyway, cool tune!

Hi Carrie, it's similar to the title page of Smokey Mokes and Bunch of Blackberries...Steve.

Hi Joel, Many thanks for your kind comment, this is my 575th arrangement and after doing so many, I often use ideas that have worked before as I'm sure did CE. You'll probably find that as I do, he took his arrangements from piano scores so it's more than possible that we would have similar ideas....Steve.
