Poirier was a French Canadian composer and this is the only composition that he wrote that exploits the ragtime craze of the time, hence the rather non PC title. It isn't ragtime but it is a catchy tune in which double repeats have been used to reduce the size of the score. Much of the melody in the first section is played on the third string and it isn't too much of a challenge to play. The score and midi are in the library....Steve.

What a pleasant little tune...with a terrible name. Ah well.

I enjoyed hearing a snippet (first half) of the "orientale" leitmotif in this.
