C'est très intéressant tous les nommes anciens. Je ne peux pas translate the title either. Jay Wilbur had a popular band and recorded with Gracie Fields I think.

A brochette is a skewer of grilled meat. But in slang I think it's a gathering together of attractive things of the same kind, usually pretty girls. Une brochette des filles is something like a bevy of beauties (or "a beverage of booties" as I used to hear it deliberately mangled many years ago).
