Three Emile Grimshaw's exercises.
Sylvia had trouble uploading. So I have had a go and all seems to work for me!
Great performance Sylvia or perhaps we should call you "Hot fingers" Sylvia :-)
Hey, Sylvia – well done! I still haven’t got the nerve to put myself on video, so am deeply envious that you have. They are not easy pieces: I’ve been working on Nos 1 to 3, and haven’t yet got to No. 12, but I like the sound of that one and may just fast-forward to it. What banjo are you playing? It has a lovely sound. Cheers, Liz
Hi Liz, I havn't done all twelve yet, but like you I liked No. 12.and jumped to that before I did exercise 2. I don't think there is any harm in choosing the exercises that you like and leaving the ones you don't like. You can always go back to those when you have learnt the ones you do like. If you see what I mean : )
The banjo is a Parslow, I bought it a couple of months ago and love it.
Have a go at doing a video, it's sort of interesting. I had to ditch loads of takes and even then I wasn't satisfied. Mike also reckoned he ditched quite a few doing his first video, so join the club and... "Have a Go "..... Cheers , Sylvia.
Well played Sylvia, smashing tone!
I would caution against having your strap tied to the head-stock though, it can pull the banjo out of tune.
