Looking for music

Does anyone have the second part or the piano part to "Valentine" by Cammeyer? I would love to get my hands on it.

New Podcast from Hal Allert

Hi, friends. I just finished posting a new blog. This time I look at the music of Rex Schepp. He was a real master of the banjo. These recordings are all orchestrated with the Nathaniel Shilkrit Orchestra and have been restored by me.Blog at classicbanjo.com

Charles Mansell Plays Emile Grimshaw

Hello Everyone. I am proud to announce another two CDs available on the Classic Banjo Shopping site. http://shop.classicbanjo.com. I have restored two CDs of Charles Mansell playing his favorite Emile Grimshaw solos. I particularly like these two because you can actually hear Mr. Mansell playing the second parts to these songs. He actually played second banjo on all of his work but the quality has been so poor that those parts never stood out.…

Classic Banjo Podcast

Hello Friends. After quite a bit of time, I am proud to announce a new podcast on my blog site. This offering is about Charlie Rogers who, some say, was second only to Vess Ossman in banjo playing. I hope you will listen to this podcast and the 3 songs that Charlie plays during the program.

Hi Hal - I would just like to say a very big thnakyou for giving me the opportunity to hear my father, Tom Barriball, play the banjo again after all these years. I used to go with him once a week regularly to dances that he was playing at with various bands in my teens. It was the only way he could keep playing what he wanted. My mother was not musically inclined and he would not play in the house if she was around. - Congratulations on the podcast - I thoroughly enjoyed it. Hi Hal - Many thanks for the "Auto-Biography of my father's". It really is an eye opener and a lot of information in it that I was totally unaware of. Can I ask you a couple of personal questions? How did you get to know my father? Clearly mainly through correspondence as you said in an earlier message that you had never actually met him. Did you correspond on a regular basis? Have you any other bits, such as sheet music or anything of that nature that he sent to you. I have been in touch with Ray Andrews but he reckons he doesn't have anything that is of any use. Anything you can offer would be really appreciated, kind regards, Tarry Barriball
