This is good example of a tune written in the Indian genre that was popular at the time. It makes a very playable banjo solo. The piano score was written in Bb/Gmin/Eb however I've arranged it in F/Dmin/Bb as it better fits the banjo. I've set parts of it in a lower octave and have included the piano LH in bars 15 to 20 which gives the tune a driving rhythm which I quite like. This is repeated through out the piece. The attached score and MP3 will be added to the library later...Steve.

What is the Indian genre?

Hi Austin, Tunes and songs based on the the romanticized life of native Americans as would have been imagined by popular composers of the day and which often featured in Vaudeville and Music hall. I've done several arrangements of such music which I've added to the library over the years. One of the most well known of this genre is Red Wing by Kerry mills. Others are Silver Star by C.L.Johnson and Silverheels by Neil Moret....Steve.
