The other night I got obsessed with the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coventry_Carol" target="_blank">Coventry Carol</a>, a very old song that was not actually originally associated with Christmas but has since entered the canon of traditional Christmas carols. It's a melancholy tune with a jarring "<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Picardy_third" target="_blank">Picardy third</a>" ending on a major chord. The other night I got obsessed with the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coventry_Carol" target="_blank">Coventry Carol</a>, a very old song that was not actually originally associated with Christmas but has since entered the canon of traditional Christmas carols. It's a melancholy tune with a jarring "<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Picardy_third" target="_blank">Picardy third</a>" ending on a major chord. I got to fooling around with it and came up with an arrangement in C minor - I haven't worked it up well enough to do a recording yet, but the notation & midi are attached. </p>
