SUMMARY:Ridgeway Banjo Rally 2010
DESCRIPTION:Ridgeway Banjo Rally 2010\nThis year's rally will be held
in the village hall at Ridgeway on May 8th, 2010, commencing at 12 noo
n and finishing at 5.00 p.m.\n\nThe rally will follow the usual format
, there will be informal playing of the banjo throughout the event, in
terspersed with the usual popular competitions, the usua...l banjo jum
ble will be for sale, the Harry Everett Memorial pint will be taken at
3.00 p.m. in the 'Swan Inn', followed by the enormously popular banjo
quiz.\n\nThe community banjo pieces for this year will be announced a
fter due deliberation by t'committee, any other pieces which members m
ay wish to play 'ensemble' should be brought to the attention of the o
rganisers - Pat Doyle, Mike Redman, Anthony Peabody, Lady Trentham, Ge
rald Seymour or Richard Ineson.\n\nEveryone is welcome to attend and p
lay at this event, in past years we have stipulated that only the fing
er style banjo could be played, this was in deference to the quieter v
oice of our instrument but, in recent years, the plectrum banjo has be
en featured and we have found that our previous fears were unfounded a
nd we would welcome banjoists of any persuasion to come along and ente
rtain fellow banjo enthusiasts.\n\nAnyone who has a banjo or banjo mus
ic or bits and pieces of banjo jumble which they would like to sell, b
ring them along, if you have a financially successful day, make a cont
ribution to the hire of the hall etc. if you meet with consumer resist
ance there is no charge.\n\nThere will be the usual famous pork sandwi
ches and other modestly priced, good quality, refreshments provided by
Bernadette and her team, alcohol is available in the conveniently adj
acent 'Swan Inn'.\n\nDirections to Ridgeway\n\nFrom junction 30 on the
