Emile Grimshaw was not only a prolific composer for the banjo, but he also composed for the guitar.  A Spanish Romance is one of his attempts at musical transvesticism: a Spanish guitar piece for the banjo.  The interpreters of this piece over the years have tried in their various ways to get across the essential guitar feel of the three movements, each of which adopts a distinct Spanish guitar style.  The second and third movements lend themselves respectively to a tremolo and a Flamenco interpretation.  I've gone for the latter.

Brilliant Tony!  10 stars from me!

It is good to see that our old friend Tapis has returned for a visit, and with a great performance too.  It is also good to see that banjo players use their lips to count the correct tempo too... I thought that it was just darned members of my Handbell Ringing team!

I love the AMAZING RASPS. I have never been able to produce rasps as clean as crisp as you Tapis does using a forward rasp like that. I really must watch that over and over and practice.

The cracking rate at which you he played the foreplay section of the "Romance" was a little startling  but very effective.

Great to see you again. Please keep them coming, I love your style!
