Last year Rob called in to my house and played Galop de Concert and what a delight it was to hear him play live. Greg, your performance is superb of the solo is excellent indeed. You get that great Classic Style attack which is often missing from performances.

SIX stars from me. I have never managed to get very far with this piece, but you have inspired me to try again!

A grand performance Greg!  I have played second banjo on Galop de Concert a few times with Rob when we have played together in the past, I must get my copy out and play along to your rendition.  I also liked your Ragtime Episode, which I used to play the second banjo for when we (International Banjo Quartet) played this piece.  I have now learned the first part thanks to listening to you.  Oh, and relearned Footlight Favourite, plus Butterfly (Morley) and now working on relearning On the Ganges (Bert Basset) which I used to play with William J.  Ball.  Bill wrote a piano part for On the Ganges but (we) don't know what happened to the score, although I do have a recording of the piano part which is handy to play along with.  Bill wishes he had discovered On the Ganges previously, as he said he would have made a recording of it.  Over to you Greg?

Thank you Ian and Mike. Give it a shot Ian. It'd be great to hear what you come up with. 

I wish I had all the opportunities to share and play along with people the way you have, Mike. One of my goals is to try to get out of the house a bit more and do some playing with more people. I'm planning on going to the American Banjo Fraternity rally this spring and will be doing some introductory classic banjo classes at Suwannee Banjo Camp and Midwest Banjo Camp (along with offering classes on minstrel/stroke style, the Jola ekonting and background on other West African plucked lute traditions, and some rhythm bones basics). I've not tried Butterfly or On the Ganges, but with your suggestion, I'll look them up!

If anyone is in the DC area and wants to get together for some tunes, let me know!!

That's a brilliant piece, I tried to learn it a while ago but eventually gave up on it. it's a real finger twister! Your excellent recording inspired me to have another go at it.
