I recently found this article in a 1927 copy of "RHYTHM" the Magazine for Drummers and Banjoists!!
It explains the use of the right hand for playing the ZB. I find it interesting to see the differentiation between the "Strong forceable touch" of the banjo player and the "Light delicate touch" of the Zither banjo players.

Yes, I agree with the idea of a light delicate touch on the ZB. When I play hard, like on a regular banjo, the ZB sounds completely different and unpleasant. This is one of the hardest techniques to master on the ZB. It really does respond to a light delicate touch.
