By one of my favourite composers, AJ Weidt. I love the build up during the trio. I decided to power through my mistakes. Why not?

This is also one of my favorite tunes.

No problem powering thru. I have a hard time doing that though. My body just wants to stop when I screw up...and then recovering from that impulse simply adds more mistakes and the whole thing comes crashing down.

Grab those errors and get to work on them. Note value, timing, phrasing. It I crucial in these syncopated pieces to hit both the correct note value and to stress the proper beats. This is not an easy piece to get right...but you're well on your way!

Thanks. One of my main issues, besides some obvious ones, is that I have smallish hands and I have a lot of trouble with that one chord (which I'm ashamed to say, I can't even identify it), that I call that 412 or rather, 2nd fret on the 3rd string (A), 1 fret, second string (C) and 4 fret, 1st string (f#). I've tried a number of tricks to try and extend my reach, but sometimes, it just doesn't work out how I'd like it to.

Try keeping your LH thumb in the middle of the back of the neck most of the time while playing and arch your fingers over the fretboard. This way a 412 (easy), with the twist of your wrist, becomes a 412 extended, that you want but much easier!

... Even for me with my stumpy fingers!

This is 3 of the 4 notes of a D7 chord (D natural would complete it). I also had trouble playing it, even when using the thumb and hand position suggested by Ian.  I just kept playing it badly until one day it got clearer. And then it got even better. And now it's not a problem.
