This was recorded by both Vess Ossman and Ruby Brooks. The Ruby Brooks recording is on the jukebox and is credited to Geo. Lansing however the Alexandra Digital Research Library of CU Santa Barbara names E.B.Hunt as being the composer so some confusion there.

I couldn't track down a musical score or a recording by Ossman so I wrote the arrangement using a piano midi that I managed to locate. It's a good early cakewalk with an 'old timey' sound to it. I've kept it in the original Key of G which makes it very banjo friendly and not too hard on the fingers.

This a Columbia Orchestra recording which is worth listening to.

As it was recorded by Ossman, maybe someone in Ning land has a copy of the score?

My score and midi are in the library..Steve.

Sorry, I think I was thinking about "A Darkie Chuckle"..."tickle" not found.

Lansing did so many "A Darkie ____" that it may be forgiven to have attributed this one to him.

It is listed the ABF Library, attributed to Lansing and published by Gatcomb. With 1st and 2nd. I'll send out an email and see if I can get a copy.

Many thanks Marc..Steve.

Got the dots (1st and 2nd) this morning. Waiting for authorization to post 'em here.

Mystery solved, title page reads: "The Darkey Tickle (characteristic dance) by E.B. Hunt, arranged by G.L. Lansing"

Thanks Marc, mystery solved, with Darkey in the title I suppose that Lansing had to have a hand in it somewhere!..I look forward to seeing the score....Steve.

...and...

Here are the TAB files. As usual, I have re-fingered some bits (very minor) to suit myself...the notes are all there per Lansing's originally published dots though.
