What a great little tune and nicely played on great sounding banjo(s)

Thank you, sir! There are some fun ones in that collection.  Both parts were played on an Eastman Whyte Laydie.

My favourite 'go to' book for many years as light relief from the rigours of slogging through a difficult piece. I bought my copy together with the Grimshaw tutor from a dusty flea market in 1969 - my first intro to Classic Banjo. Lots of delightful tunes that can be mixed and matched into medleys with some interesting tempo changes. They always raise a smile when friends hear them as they have such happy and uplifting melodies. I heartily recommend players revisiting these early books.

Very nice, well done!

I agree, much of the 'lighter'/'earlier' fare is just as enjoyable as the heavier stuff...and a great way to take a 'break' from the slog.

For a long time, I aspired to play the most difficult pieces I could find. No more. I am much more inclined to play the fun and pleasant stuff; sappy though some of it may be.

Thanks again!  In my case they make a nice way to ease back into reading/playing music after a bit of a classic style hiatus.  And some of them (like this one) are practically begging for trio strains, and would be a good springboard for composition.

That's a catchy tune and well played, would there be any possibility of having the Ellis book or at least a selection of the best tunes added to the music library?....Steve.

Ah, I would have said I'd gotten it from here, but apparently not!  In the meantime it can be found over on the Songbooks page at http://www.classicbanjo.com/songbooks.html

And plaudits from this corner of the planet, as well. I especially like the clarity the well-recorded and overdubbed banjo parts provide (an all-too common necessity, I'd imagine, for we one-per-town classic banjoists out there. If Led Zeppelin did it, then why not us?) A very lovely performance all around, indeed.

Great - a jolly little tune!  I like your recording of the duet.
