Hello everyone. Well, I have finally published my Internet Radio Station, Classic Banjo Radio. It streams 24/7 and has players for iTunes, Android, and Blackberry. There are at present approximately 500 pieces that I have cleaned up. Some of them still sound like crap but you should have heard the originals. Thanks to Ian for letting me tap into the Banjo DJ. I will be cleaning those up as well. And Jody contributed quite a few songs from his library. Thanks again, Jody.  I recently finished 4 cassettes of John Sloan, who recently died, and will be including them in the library.

I hope you will take a listen and give me some feedback as this project is far from over. I have probably another 300 pieces to go. I want to make this music last for generations to come. Spread the word.

It's amazing the amount of music you have amassed. I really appreciated the music I got from the store and listen to it quite often. Sorry the store wasn't viable.

I appreciate your great contribution and efforts to keep this music alive!

Thanks Hal!

Thanks Hal..a great contribution, the downside for me is that hearing all these great players makes me realize that even after 40 years of playing, I've still a long way to go...Steve.

Steve, I know what you mean. I don't know how many times I have heard these tunes while preparing them. All I hear is how bad they still sound to my ears. But, considering that some of these tunes were recorded 114 years ago, I think they are still better than listening to the originals.

One positive effect is that I identified a number of tunes that I would like to learn and play.

Hasn't been streaming this week. Is something wrong that can be fixed?

Hi B.  (Sorry but we only have an initial!)

Hal's server has crashed and is being fixed.

Have you checked out the "BANJO DJ"  at the top of the home page. There are hundreds of titles available and you can select your own players or individual tunes..

Click on the Phonograph by the menus on the page :-)

Thanks for the good news. I look forward to it. I hear the DJ when I'm at the PC, and the stream when I'm in a different room. The old pieces that you have cleaned up sound great thru a sub-woofer.
