"The Zither Banjo Hints on the Right Hand"... from Rhythm Magazine 1927

I have been hunting through my heaps of old mags trying to locate early BMG mags for Joel, but they are proving to be illusive!

One mag that I did dig out is an interesting one as it was published as a magazine for Drummers and Banjoists !!!! ????

I found this article by Bernard Sheaff interesting about the Right Hand in  Zither Banjo playing:

Odd that Sheaff refers to the banjo's "keyboard" rather than fingerboard or fretboard. Keys on a banjo neck?

Well spotted Jody... Keys eh?,

NOW we know the secret of good banjo playing:

The Chord Buddy !

Bernard Sheaff certainly ahead of his time.

...  Mine is on order  :-))

You should get the professional version...

I find that getting the correct tone  from a zither banjo is the most difficult thing I face. One or the other of the strings alway seems to dominate, especially in playing chords. When done correctly, it is a sound of beauty. I intend to continue fighting Satan in producing beautiful music.
