Hi Ilam,

Calliope Rag is a great tune!  What are the other pieces?

You have obviously been playing for quite a while, why not tell us about yourself?

ps. I hope the cough gets better soon ;-)

Last one is a stroke-style tune called "Buckley's Jig".

and...Welcome!

Thanks so much for reposting this and the warm welcome! I've been playing clawhammer for a pretty long time now and have been living in Paris, France for the past decade. A few trips to the UK and hearing about Joe M. got me into classic banjo. I'm hooked now. Now back in the USA (New York City) and still trying to learn. Mostly using tab and original recordings where I can get my hands on them. This website, reallyniceman videos and the members are a great resource!

Working on some Grimshaw tunes and hoping to get some recordings up soon. Also looking forward to starting up an old time fiddle band here that can feature some classic banjo. I'd love to debut some classic banjo number for our Jazz Age lawn party here in New York this summer.

I'm playing classic style on my ramsey 12" which really hurts my fingers! Scoured ebay.co.uk for some Cliffords but too afraid to buy without trying one out yet.

Lastly, I was in Malawi in 2013 with my job and met an 80 year old chap that played old Southern African style banjo (I worked for the UN). I made a website about the man, check it out: http://www.scrollkit.com/s/pRUW3n8

Thanks for this and talk to y'all soon!!!
