The Exile's Dream, Tremolo Melody w/ Accompaniment.

I still need practice, but I am getting there. From Stewart's Journal, Oct. & Nov. 1886. I rush the end a little. But what the heck, it's fun.

Holy smokes. We need more than 5 stars for this one. I have never gotten anywhere with the tremelo technique. Did you have someone show you how, or did you learn it "Without a Master?" I had Clarke Buehling give me a tremelo lesson once but still never made any headway. Perhaps you could start a blog or Forum post on how to tremelo.

a little tremolo commentary from Frank Converse..."Lew Brimmer…was drollery personified, either on or off the stage... he boasted much of his “educated finger,” as he expressed it, referring to the tremolo movement, in the execution of which he assumed he could not be approached, and would say that “when he dropped it on ‘old Culinary’ (a heavy metal rim banjo presented to him by an enterprising maker, for business reasons, and which he occasionally introduced) it made the angels weep.”

Thanks, you guys are too kind. I will try to Blog about the tremolo. No formal music training. In fact, other than grade school orchestra violin, I have not had any lessons.

The banjo is a modern "factory tub," a Gold Tone EC-1. It has a double-wired clad rim. I bought it for a pretty knock around and kind of regretted it. But it has grown on me.

I am still looking for that "one banjo." I know it is out there

Wow, that's crazy. The "finger wiggle" trem is such an insane idea. Well played, Joel!! Yeah, that's gotta get 6 stars.
