I can never get my first and second fingers to play those 1st string notes smoothly, so I usually resort to my BG training and play these T1T2 T1T2 T1T2 (or, in BG parlance TITM TITM TITM).

Marc , i understand what you mean , but the BG single string tech cannot solve all the problems from some CB tunes ; this is the reason why , i guess , emile grimshaw writted this exercice . if i can share my experience with this , i had difficulties to do , and then , it came automaticly , i don t know why ; you should try again , at least the 2 first bars
