Bagpipe Reel, by J.H. Jennings, pub. 1894. Spotty version, I just got the dots off of ebay... Banjo is my Hartel "1852 Ashborn" replica. Tuning is dGDF#A.

Ending is "ad lib" ;-) I missed the last chord...

That's a great tune, Marc. Tell us more about the source! And will you share the dots???

This was really just a quickie. I will be happy to share the dots, but you'll have to be happy with my Tabledit job, the original is falling apart and probably wouldn't survive the scanner. Jennings was a Rhode Island banjoist, teacher, etc. He 'self-published' a small number of pieces in the 1890's and I have about 4 or 5 of them. They're nothing to shout about, not nearly as lyrical as Weidt and the arrangements for the 2nd banjo are very basic.

I got the dots-to-tab conversion done Monday evening and played thru it a couple times. Last night I was in the Banjolounge chat room and played it live for a few people on the Flesher...and then on the Ashborn. I ended up playing it several times on two different banjos. Naturally, when I tried to record myself, I froze up and just barely got this version done. I don't know how you guys do it.

Great! We need to do more guitar style on our "tubs." It seems to work so well, yet unexpected.
