Oh! I think the Cammeyer is lovely actually. In it's own oddball way.

That Cammeyer "whateveritis" looks like one of those "Must Have" instruments that you buy and then it lives for ever under the bed or in the wardrobe.  I find it quite lovely too!

Unfortunately, Marc's Bling Banjo suits my playing style better, so I now have one on order. ;-)

I've ordered two. And I want that Cammeyer lute buster.

Ian & Richard , you did well  ; jody & marc , don 't hesitate ; the banjo could be soon out of order.....

..............of course ,  a beautiful custom head should be " un plus " to follow the discreet WJBall ' style

What amused me about the Cammeyer is that it is not a "tenor lute" which already is misleading as a name.  Oh no, that is for Gibson's flat back longish necked wooden answer to the tenor banjo and tenor guitar.  This is a "lute tenor" which goes beyond and enters the linguistic territory of *meaningless*.

Wow, that Cammeyer whatsit looks like an awful-sounding instrument. I'm not too keen on the sound of the tenor-banjo in the first place, and this floating bridged, arch-topped, tenor-strung, Bouzouki-meets-mandola-meets-domra-meets-tenor-banjo thing must sound like flatulence from Satan's very own bottom.

I dunno how it might sound, but it looks like it has is pressurized...or perhaps a victim of botox experiments. I cannot get over that 'arched' top...looks as if someone couldn't find a decent piece of wood out in the shop...but that toilet lid upstairs! Eureka!

It certainly is a 'one off' the peg head looks like Weaver's work but I'm not sure about the rest of it. I like the inlaid pick guard, and the tailpiece, but the engraving of the MOP looks a bit crude and not up to the usual Cam standard. I wonder if the 'Cammeyer' signature stamp appears on this curiosity?
