Hi there,

I just thought I'd pop in to see where my other half hangs out and have a nosey around the site by myself. You may have seen my left hand in one of OH'S videos and my head in another. I thought I'd post now and then from the perspective of 'the long suffering wife person who lives with a banjo player'. There will be no technical jargon, I'm afraid. I tried the banjo once, 2nd part to Sunflower Dance, I believe, but it wasn't for me - I prefer the instrument I know which is the piano. I notice that there's only one lady here - hello there, Sylvia - how's things? Practising hard? There's not been much practising here at the moment with roofing and mowing the lawn but I'm assured all that is going to change now it's starting to rain.

'Til next time. Keep practising.

xx

Join the club..my wife Gill is also a banjo widow but I keep reminding her at at least she's knows (and can hear!) where I am most of the time...Steve.

Hello, reallynicelady! Your brilliant piano accompaniments on Ian's videos really made me appreciate how important it is to play along to a proper piano or 2nd part... unfortunately I have to rely on MIDI files or double-tracked 2nd banjo parts as I don't know anyone who could play along with me, and I haven't got access to a piano. Are you working on any new musical projects?

Hi There Really Nice Lady,  You have no idea how great it is to "hear " another female voice, it was also nice to see you on Ians videos even though it might have been just a hand or head, and I especially enjoyed the accompaniment  that you had arranged on one of them, can't remember which video it was, it's not that long ago though.

Yes I have been practising,  sometimes when I should be doing other things like housework and gardening. It gets to be a bit addictive this banjo playing.

Hope you will pop by again soon.

Sylvia

Hi , congratulations for the good job ; do you have to learn & practice the accompaniment before playing it or just " plug & play "  ?@+m
