Albums: My new Stefanelli banjo build photos
Will do Sylvia. :-)
That is going to be one BEAUTIFUL banjo.
"Mr. Stefanelli does make exceedingly good banjos".
Keep the pictures, oh yes Sylvia, and the videos coming!
I'm sure Eric will be doing a fair amount of "testing" before he sends it on to me :-)
Hopefully he will make a few videos whilst he is at it. Once I have had it a while, I'm sure I can muster up a Sunflower Dance or something!
I really like the Bacon "FF Professional" style banjos. The internal resonator really makes 'em sound wonderful. They project like crazy and are generally well balanced in tone. I had mine converted from its original tenor configuration to 5-string for clawhammer...not nearly as fancy as this one!
Some years ago, I spent a couple of days talking with Dave Ball in Knoxville. Dave is a collector and builder and has done some very interesting experiments with the internal resonator design. His "best/final" design has no "f" holes in the back of the resonator, it is simply flat (and phenolic rather than wood). It has a very warm and delightful tone, slightly biased towards the bass end.
Looking forward to hearing this one played!!
