Octipus Rag 1

This is a good ragtime tune. I haven't been able to find out much about the composer so if anyone has any knowledge let me know. I've arranged it from the original piano score. The best playing speed is 85 b.p.m.

Hi Alan, thanks for your comment. As with most of my arrangements, I trawled the American Universities' digital music records for likely looking but obscure tunes to try. This one came from Illinois Uni. I'd never heard it before and could find nothing about the composer. Have a try at my latest effort, Happy Heinie, if you get the chance. It's a great tune by  Jens Bodewalt Lampe, he of Creole Belles fame. As a march, it goes with the banjo very well, I've kept it simple and it's not too challenging to play. The reason I've been posting a few recently is that I've been laid up since December having had surgery on both my 63 years old knees and I've had to do something to keep busy..all the best..Steve.
