TWO FINGER TREMOLO VIDEO TUTORIAL

Mike Moss  recently posted a tutorial video demonstrating two finger, single string, tremolo as an accompaniment to a bass melody. This technique was widely used in the early days of classic style banjo but seems to have slipped out of popularity (or just got forgotten).

There were different ways to produce this tremolo effect, two fingers alternating, finger and thumb alternating or a single finger (usually index or middle)  "twiddling" a single string.

I would like to collect as much information on this technique as possible please.
