I spotted this score as featured by "The Rag Pickers Band".

I posted it as it does show a picture of one of our heroes, Emile Grimshaw.

He looks much more manly than he does in some photos from the time!

I wonder what ever happened to the  Rag Pickers? I am sure that they were very entertaining, particularly the comedian/drummer!

I just noticed that Emile stuck his armrest if a daft place too... perhaps where Tarrant Bailey Junior got the idea??

Am I seeing a three-footed bridge on his instrument?

NOPE !

That is a thin triangular piece of wood which acts as an anti-tip device to stop the bridge falling over, hitting the vellum at 1000 miles an hour and scaring everyone, including the player to death with the enormous BANG.

:-)

I am sure that someone will provide a close up, as I can't find one at the moment.

That is the post plectra--cheese slicer version.

This is the one he has...

Ian, is this a banjo piece?

The "Mar-sar Nello" I mean.. the bridge is clearly a piece of a banjo.

Aye, but it was as close as I could find quickly. I'd like to see an original of the Grover that looks like a saw-horse!
