Thanks to Rob Murch ! JUKEBOX for members' Audio Recordings

Now that we have our new JUKEBOX up and running I thought that I would post to explain how I hope that we can all make use of it.

NING don’t allow audio uploads on our user package for which they charge $225 per year! This means that we could only link to a Youtube (or other providers) video/ audio service to hear people perform. This is all very messy, so I thought that a JUKEBOX would allow me to upload as many original Classic Banjo recordings as I can find to our own server, but also allow members to have their MP3 audio recordings available on it too.

If you do have an MP3 recording and would prefer to upload that rather than post a video, please just email me.

The idea became more focused in my mind when, a couple of months ago, I spoke to Rob Murch, who is a great player and site member about an audio file that he had recorded and would like to offer to play on site.

Rob on Paramount Style F banjo (previously owned by Horace Craddy) and friends Mark Bazeley on Guitar and Matt Norman on Bass Banjo have recorded Joe Morley’s composition:  Olympian March.

I thought “Olympian March” would be a perfect distraction to the weeks and weeks of Television Hell which is about to be unleashed upon us regarding what might, what is, and what did happen at the Olympic Games here in the UK…. So I have now added Rob’s recording to the JUKEBOX.

… just type : olymp  in the search box and you will find it, and superb it is too. Thank you ROB and friends !!

Ian, I think the BIG Thank you needs to go to you not me. I think you have done such a brilliant job on this website to promote our style of banjo playing. Your time spent on this website behind the scenes is really appreciated by all the members worldwide and you never cease to amaze me by the amount of banjo facts/photo's/music and any other connections you get regarding our favourite pastime.. Keep up the good work! Rob
