This is a novelty composition by Joplin with the instruction for the pianist to stamp the heel of one foot on the floor where indicated on the score, effectively the first and third beats of each bar. Whether anyone would be able to stamp the left foot whilst playing the banjo may present a challenge! The score and midi are in the library...Steve.

Ach! Now you're just toying with me.

I've tried to arrange this for the banjo on a number of occasions. Typically, I would do one section and then get tired. I've got a couple attempts around here.

Much of this piece appears in "Ragtime Dance" by Joplin. I don't know which was first.

Nope, I could not stomp my foot and play. Heck, I can't stomp my foot that long anyway, playing or not!.
