new tracks added in the jukebox ( Nice Banjo orchestra )

ian added some tunes we used to record with éric and Pat some years ago i and i would like  to say  how it 's a great experience full of joy , playing any banjo , even 2nd or cello in a banjo band (  Jody can approve .. ) ;  and this with easy tunes , play at your level .  for those who had the chance of playing bluegrass before in a band or not ,  your already learned  'banjo technique will be a positive thing .  i particulary like " transatlantique " by the maestro T Bailey Jn , a tune dedicated to the ABF ; i have totally re created  , imagi, ned a way to play it using my fretless cello ; i would say the same thing than above for those who played double bass or electric bass before in a rock or bluegrass band ( i did both ) this is a " + " , because the cello is a banjo but needs the feeling of a real bass player , too .  i hope you will enjoy the tracks .

Yes, Jody approves and enjoys the "Really Nice Orchestra of Banjos"playing Transatlantique.   The approach I've taken when playing a support role on a banjo is to go along with the characteristics of the particular instrument I am playing. So on my old Vega guitar-banjo I notice that if I try to make any note sustain as long as the cello banjo is getting on this recording my banjo goes SPLATT, it just sounds horrible whereas it sounds beautiful on Marc's cello banjo.  But if I release the finger pressure of the left hand right after striking the string with the right hand the string sound stops immediately but the vellum and the pot keep the note vibrating a little bit longer. I'm taking the short sustain approach of a tuba, that's what I'm thinking. (A Ragtime Episode is an exception because there I'm constantly changing timbre and register and even switching between plectrum and fingers.)
