I was having a look at the Minstrel Ning site when I noticed Jim Dalton has found a new online resource for banjo tutors:

Yup, saw dat. They're a b*tch to download though. I haven't found an easy way to do it...yet. The Converse 1893 is really rare (as are several others, such as the Howe 1851, the Buckley Banjo Guide, etc.).

Stewart proves that the banjo is good for you (except for Banjo-Related Alopecia, but Swaim died too young to feel its effects)...

easy way to download Converse 1893: in the upper left hand corner you are offered "options". Chose the complete print version and the whole thing instantly appears on your monitor. You can print what you like from there.
Yes...but the quality is horrible. Very low resolution. Some come thru readable and some are just awful.

Hi,

It is straightforward to download these at full resolution.

First open the required book on the site. When it has loaded go to the small dropdown 'Options' box at upper left.

Within this box select 'Complete print version'. Click 'Go'

When this has loaded right click and choose 'Save as'. Name and save whatever and where you wish.

This downloads the full-res pdf document to your computer.
