Looking at the new Morley section of the site reminded me that a couple of years ago I took a wander and had a look at the old man's grave.

It's in Streatham Green Cemetery in south London. I found it a bit tricky to find. If you decide to have a look yourself  it’s number 34010-20. The 34010 is the plot number and the 20 is the section of the cemetery. It’s not very clear and took me ages to work it out.

As you'll all know Joe was actually buried in a paupers grave and the headstone was erected by a group of enthusiasts (many of whom are on here) in 2001.

Very nice. I've taken similar pilgrimages for almost forgotten greats.

For those who don't know, the image of the Weaver banjo was made by Clive Hughes, possibly the best repairer/refurbisher of Weaver banjos on the planet.
