Picked up this on a 78 the other day. I wasn't familiar with it, but isn't it a cracking tune?

I wonder which particular set of "insurgents" he was thinking of?

That is a new one on me too!  It has a great bass solo then seems to fall into chaos for a while with snatches of bass and frantic treble runs :-)

Odd tune, but good all the same!

All I can think of is the Philippine Insurrection of 1899-1902. I don't think any of the similar conflicts that Britain had in the same period were called "insurrections" (populated by insurgents)...they were 'wars' (ie, Boer War, etc.)

I've jusr Googled it,It was written by Cammeyer and the sheet music is available from Clifford Essex...Steve
