Hope this has not been done before, if so, please feel free to ignore.

During my recent exile, i started to wonder what would be the top, number one favorite tune of each member on here?

I realize its a hard concept to choose just one, because it changes from time to time. But come on, as of this moment, whats yours??

Probably "Pensacola". Or maybe "The Smiler".  Or "Cupid's Arrow".

"Rose leaves gavotte", "Calliope rag", "Russian rag", I really like!

My favourites are whatever tunes I'm playing at the time..at the moment it's 'Keynotes Rag'..always 'Return of the regiment' and'You and a canoe' and one of my own arrangements..'At a Darktown Cakewalk'

I am a bit like Steve.. I too like the one that I am playing at the moment! I tend to shy away from the regular ones that everyone seem to play, like the standard Morley stuff.

I like Van Eps performances so try to find his arrangements ( or try to arrange my own from his records). Unfortunately I have the problem that when I hear someone play a tune I have not heard I want to play it too, and there aren't enough hours in the day, or years left to play them all!

my favorite is " deliverance " ; It is the best CB tune ; i love it very much ; i 'll hope one day , i will have the chance to play it on a pre W  deering good time  with a tone he passed  away ' tone ring

I'm in the "it depends" dept. Whatever I'm currently working on...and then whatever happens to catch my fancy as I'm flipping thru the tunebook.

I'm currently still working on "Fun On The Wabash" and "Dashwood Quickstep" to have them ready for a stage performance in May. Both are coming along nicely...but I can't seem to keep 'em together for a video yet.

I do prefer Morley and Park Hunter as well as A.J. Weidt. The past few months I seem to have gotten on a Thomas Armstrong kick but other than messing about with some of his compositions, I just haven't chosen any to really get up to speed or even vaguely memorized.

And yes, as I entered this world as a Bluegrass banjoist, I had to learn to play Drooling Banjos...and then learn how not to.

Trapdoor, I found that when someone else is operating the camera it is less stressful than when I do it myself. I dunno if it'll work for you or even if it's practical but it was a pleasant surprise for me to find this out.

As for favorites, there are two sorts. Favorites to play and favorites to listen to. Some of my listening favorites are beyond my present abilities. I really like listening to Fred Van Eps play Grace and Beauty for instance but it's not a favorite to play because my rendition would have less grace and less beauty than I would like it to have. I also like listening to Vess Ossman's recordings. He makes more boo-boos than Van Eps, and he sometimes simplifies the left hand to gain speed, but his playing is so very musical and enjoyable.
