Thanks Richard. That would make sense.

The actual recording that I found is this one entitled 'Gaiety School'. The composer isn't named unfortunately: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OBCVusIn9b0

'A Gaiety Girl' was a very successful musical comedy first performed in 1894, there is a full account of it on Wikipedia etc. I assume that the Oakley recording of 'Gaiety Girl' was perhaps a medley of songs from the show. There were other 'girl' musicals including the 'Runaway Girl' which contains the song 'Soldiers in the Park' recorded by Vess Ossman

Hi Ian - thank you so much for making the score available. I will give it a go.

The recording list is interesting - I have heard Dandy Fifth but not the other recordings and, interestingly, it is listed as 'Gaiety Girl' rather than 'Gaiety School'. I suspect he wrote it but perhaps the score wasn't published. Thank you very much for the info.

Hi Carrie,

I haver added the score for Oakley's "Devil may Care" to the MUSIC LIBRARY for you. I hope that helps, but sorry I don't have an audio track.

All I can find about Gaiety School is that Oakley recorded this on International Zonophone records in 1904, but there is no reference as to whether it was one of his compositions.…
