This is a rare rag and unless someone knows otherwise, I suspect that it's unlikely to have been arranged for banjo before.

J.L.Hill was a performer and composer of music for black musical theatre and revues. He was better known for his ragtime songs rather than his tunes, I could only find two that were published of which this is one.

It's quite similar in structure to College Rag by William Hunter, especially the first section, and it has an unusual intro, not what would be expected for ragtime music.

The music cover features a good picture of a black banjo player..so may be J.L.hill had the banjo in mind when he wrote it?...Steve.
