Hello friends. I have finally published my updated classic banjo website. I have incorporated links to the radio station, the podcasts, pictures, and music into the main page. Along the side are more detailed pages about history, composers, performers, but, alas, no details about illicit love affairs by classic banjoists.

I hope you will peruse the site and, being professionals, will kindly give me feedback on what works on your browser and what does not. Since mental flogging has been banned in America for some time, I expect the civility of a gentleman or lady but am not adverse to reading between the lines, so to speak, for the sake of clarification.

You can find me at Classic Banjo Resource.

So far everything opens fine and quickly using Safari 6.1.6 as web browser……with the exception of Turner's Banjo Journal #13. I'll continue to investi-ma-gate the site.

And on the Composers page the copyright notice at the bottom covers up most of the writeup on Van Eps.

The Music Store (shop) does not work at all. One is taken to a page with a few magnifying glass icons and a notice that says "Not logged in".  As there is no way to log in, one simply shrugs and makes no purchases.

I seem to have the same problem with Turner's #13. Otherwise, everything else appears to be working.

I don't see a 'composers' page at all (or a link to one). Same for any "Music Shop".

I'm at work though, running IE 10.

Marc, if you click on the word "Content" a dropdown menu will expose the culprits. I have just taken down the Music Store. It needs to be rebuilt. Turner's No. 13 is now working as well as the Copyright notice on the "Composers" page. The Podcasts are still not working right due to the server change; I will have to upload all of it again. I hope you don't think less of me for presenting something that was below your station. I am, right at this moment, hiring a new team of coders to work round the clock to bring my site up to your superlative standards.

Standards? Those things are like scruples, they recoil and run away at the mere smell of work... I recommend an allopathic regimen of cheap gin and lime juice. That should alleviate symptoms of either...or both.

Under the 'content' dropdown, there is another list of links...some of which are visible and some are 'hidden' (until you roll over them). I see "Podcast", "History", blank (whitespace), blank, blank, blank, blank, blank, "Links", "Contact Us". As I said, if one rolls over the blank spaces, their text shows and the links do actually work.

I looked at the 'composers' section and down at the very bottom, the copyright blocks the last three lines of "other important composers."

I also tried Turner's #13 again and got a 404 error. The rest appear to work fine (pdf upload begins immediately, etc.).

I do understand that getting a website up and working properly can be a nightmare. I did it once (and a very simple one at that), never again!

#13 worked for me yesterday. Today it still works but opens far slower. My internet connection is not slow today so it's not because of that. I see the full content list on the left when I click to reveal them. But why hide them in the first place?

What browser are you using, Marc? It might help to empty your cache. Sometimes the cache will just bring up the previous version of the page unless it has been replaced by the new version.

I hid them to make the start page as clean as possible, also I thought it was cool. Did you notice the return to home page button at the top? You might try cleaning your cache in your browser as I advised Marc to try.  I checked the size of #13, it is about 13MB. #20 is 19MB. Try 20 to see if it is as slow as 13.

I'm using IE 10...but I'm at work. I have to have IT come and clear my cache as this is a Gov't computer and many typically easy functions like that are locked out.

Clean is nice but I suspect that a full third of those who visit your site will not think to click on "Contents". Making everything obvious is what's called "Fool Proof".  Just my opinion.

#20 loaded quickly. And now #13 loads quickly as well.

I didn't notice the Return To Home Page button at top left. It is only visible when one is looking at the top of the list of banjo publications. If I scroll down to # 13 I'm a long way from the top. And even then it is in small dark letters. I saw it when I looked for it. However the Back To Top option in the lower right corner is always visible (when not already at top of page) and that is very useful and very visible and never out of sight.

I believe you are correct sir. I will change it.
