So...rainy and cold out. Spent an hour or two tabbing out Grimshaw's "Big Boot Dance".

Cool tune, some fun twists and turns and some big whopping slides. My printer has a dying black ink cartridge so I got some 'self-inflicted' mistakes in there due to some blurry printing. Took me more time correcting than usual.

Anyway, see below for the dots, TAB and MIDI. I've set the old wandering metrognome at 90bpm, not quite the bottom of moderato...but close.

As usual, I went out on the net and looked for a sound file for the piece...nothing. However, I found a very cool bit of video which is probably the source for the tune!

I can't get the midi to play. Does it work on your end?

Yup, I just tried it again. Works fine.

OK, I got it to play by downloading it to my computer and then playing it with Quicktime 7. But if I click on the link it takes me to a webpage which expresses confusion. I think you are absolutely right that this tune is meant to accompany movements such as in the video. In case anyone hasn't seen the Wilbur Hall videos here are links to 2 of them.

I think that you're probably right about 'Little Tich' he is featured on my copy of the 'Big Boot Dance'.

Ah! I would like to see that Richard. I had no idea of the connection other than accidentally running across the youtube video.
